I'm Ashley, and I run Ac roofing & guttering. I do every survey myself, so the person who comes and looks at your roof is the same person who ends up doing the work on it.
I'll get up and have a proper look, take a few photos so you can see what I'm seeing, and then tell you plainly what it needs. If the roof has a few years left in it, I'll say so — I'd rather come back in three years than talk you into something today.

Ashley came out the same week and went up to look before saying anything. Two slipped tiles and the ridge needed repointing — he showed me the photos on his phone and did it a few days later. Tidy job, everything swept up after.
Our gutters were spilling over the front door every time it rained. He cleared and re-fixed the run and replaced two lengths of fascia that had gone soft. Turned up when he said he would, which is half the battle.
I was expecting to be told I needed a whole new roof. Ashley said it had a good few years left and just needed the flashing round the chimney sorting. Honest with me, and that is why I have passed his number on twice since.
